ROCKVILLE -- Montgomery County Executive Doug Duncan is bringing in a campaign strategist from Louisiana to manage his expected run for governor.
Duncan has hired 34-year-old Scott Arceneaux, who engineered victories by Democrats in two out of three recent statewide races.
Arceneaux said he is planning an aggressive campaign to raise Duncan's profile outside Montgomery County. Duncan has been making the rounds at Democratic events and took in half a million dollars two weeks ago at a fund-raiser.
Duncan's expected rival for the Democratic nomination -- Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley -- recently hired Jonathan Epstein to manage his campaign. Epstein helped orchestrate John Kerry's victory in the Iowa presidential caucuses last year. "
